Wet, wet, wet ~ Wet foods are Life!
In my kitchen, you will see a lot of soups, stews, broths and congees. It’s because in Chinese medicine we believe that real hydration comes from wet foods. Unlike plain water, these wet foods are full of vitamins, minerals and fat. They go through our digestive tracts much slower, allowing for your body to absorb nutrients and hydrate for longer.
This way of eating not only hydrates your body but also provides warmth and nourishment to support your digestive energy. Helping to cultivate vital bodily substances: Qi, Blood, and Jing.
Real hydration is soooo very essential for healing as it nourishes every single cell in our body.
When you are dehydrated Qi and Blood can become stuck allowing for disease to take place. If you are struggling with any kind of health condition and have any of the following symptoms: dry skin, dry lips, dry eyes, thirst, low immunity, poor digestion, constipation, anaemia, headaches, migraines, fluid retention or high blood pressure, you are most likely chronically dehydrated. The body makes no mistakes, listen to its messages (symptoms). Hydration is healing 🙏
